Calendly vs Acuity: which type of booking workflow suits each?

Calendly and Acuity Scheduling both reduce the back-and-forth involved in arranging time, but businesses should compare them using their actual appointment workflow.

Begin with what is being booked. A straightforward meeting between two people has different requirements from a service business managing appointment types, customer information, staff or more detailed scheduling rules.

Calendar connection is fundamental. A scheduling tool is only useful if it reflects genuine availability and avoids creating conflicts. Test how the product handles working hours, buffers, rescheduling and cancellations.

Then look at the booking page from the customer's perspective. Is it clear what they are booking? Can they complete it comfortably on a phone? Does the process request only the information the business actually needs?

If payments, forms or more service-oriented appointment management are important, include those in the test. If the main requirement is quickly sharing availability for meetings, keep that simplicity in mind as well.

Do not choose solely from screenshots. Configure one real appointment type in each product and run through the complete process as both the business and the customer.
